Autism and Life Bites!

If you don't want to read the rantings of a Dad with Autistic children, stop now. Otherwise life is a bit in the crapper right now. Now, sure it's been great that Robin won the "Busy Mom" contest with all the prizes that are coming to us soon, thanks Bemis. But, most everything else pretty much stinks.

Gee, even now I wanted to go into details but I DON"T FEEL LIKE IT. Besides it looks like no one hardly reads or especailly comments on this blog anyway. I'll probably feel better tomorrow.

My husband i'm sure can relate to your frustrations. We just found out our 9 year old is in the autism spectrum. He's lost as to what to think. He thought at first she was phsychotic with her imaginary friends and strange behavior and since the doctors couldn't find exactly what was wrong it was easy for him to believe it. Now we have this break through and though we're so glad to have found a diagnoses (believe me when I say its much better having a diagnoses to explain to people than not knowing what is wrong), he's so confused as to how to act with her. Mostly he's very strict and stern in his voice no matter what shes says or does. He would certainly benefit from talking to another Dad with the same or similar situation but he's not the support group type and there isnt a group around here anyways.

Anyways other than hugs all I can say is take things one day at a time. I'm praying for your family and thank you so much for this site. I thought we were the only ones....at least it seems so in my neck of the woods, lol.
