I saw your promo for the show on our local Comcast On Demand. I can't wait to see the show! I have to say it's nice to see that other kids peel paint off the walls too. I think that's one of the many positives that will come out of your show - that people will be able to watch it and realize that they're not alone, that other kids do the same things as their own kids. You have such a wonderful perspective on your kids and it's great to see your unconditional love for them shine through.

On a different note, I just wanted to share a story regarding your autism shirts. Meg was wearing one the other day when I took her to Target and I had two really positive respones. We were exchanging some light bulbs and as we were waiting in line two women behind us started laughing. Meg look back and started laughing too and they looked at me and said "We love her shirt! That's great!" and it led to a brief conversation on Meg and autism. The second experience was with the clerk who was working the register as we were making our purchase and getting ready to leave. She saw Meg's shirt and asked "That's a great shirt! Is she autistic?" It turns out she has two cousins who are autistic. So thanks again for the wonderful shirts. They are truly a blessing.

I would have to say im so happy to see someone display the struggles that us as parents of kids with Autism go through everyday. And to be able to show how difficult it is for children with Autism to function in a world that doesnt make sense to them is a dream come true. I am a parent of a chlid that has Autism and she has to be the sweetest child you will ever meet.I have five and every one who comes in contact with her falls in love with her. I often ask my self why her she is so sweet but god has a plan for her and thats what i have to remind my self over and over to keep from being depressed about it. Be encouraged no matter whats going on a wise man once said.

Hi folks. I have been noticing the ads for your special and am looking forward to watching it. I am down here in Provo. I have 2 kids, one with lots of various special needs (undiagnosed symdrome of some sort) and one perfect little boy. My health prevented any more babes, alas. Anywho, I wanted to invite you to join a fabulous online support group that is JUST for Utah parents of kids with special needs. We have a little of everything on there, but autism is by far the most prevalent dx. Hope you'll look into it, it's on yahoo, you can go to the groups search engine and look under "utahkids". If you can't get to it that way, feel free to email me and I'll send you the link.
Cheers,
Danielle Watson

I just finished watching the profile that Discovery Health did on your family. I would just like to say, that I was so inspired by your family. You are amazing parents and you are doing a wonderful job raising your beautiful children. As soon as I finished watching the program I googled you to see if you had a blog or something where I could tell you what an amazing family you have, and I am so glad I found this. I am 18 years old and don't know what it's like to be a parent let alone a parent of six autistic children, I also don't know anyone autistic but the program really opened my eyes and really improved my understanding of what autism is. I wish you all the best of luck for now and in the future.

Dear Kirtons

It was a pleasure to get to know you a little better from your show. You are an inspiring family and I hope to get to meet all of you someday in person. It was a wonderful show and I hope everyone gets to see more of you all in the future. In the meantime, keep up your beautiful senses of humor and hope for your kids. They are blessed to have parents with so much love, patience and unconditional acceptance of who they are.

You guys are awesome! I have one child who is autistic and two "normal" children. There are days when I would like to just drive off a cliff with him and save everyone else the grief of dealing with him. Then I see how you are dealing with SIX on the spectrum and realize I need to just get over it. I need to stop being mad at God and be thankful for what I have. I also have a brother who is autistic. Your oldest son reminds me of my brother. He lives with my parents and likes to vacuum and do the dishes. He does a good job, actually too good. He washes the dishes before he washes the dishes. They constantly run out of hot water. Anyway, keep up the good work and thanks for allowing us into your home to see your wonderful and unique family.

Hello there. I also watched this documentary, and I learned so much from it. I've been reading things about your family on and off for the past couple days now, and I blogged about you yesterday, if you want to check it out. God bless you all.
