A Life that is all Sunshine and Lollipops

It's been a fun ride these past few weeks. Some have said we have put out our 'dirty laundry' for all the world to see. I don't see my innocent children that way and it gets the hair on the back of my neck very bristled. Those we thought closest to us have either ignored, supported or want nothing more to do with us. The last part hurts the most.

But, Robin and I will continue on as we had decided before all this attention that we set in motion. Now we know who our true friends and family are. We do have a BUNCH more new friends that we are very grateful for.

We've had the positive and the negative and we prefer the positive. We want to be healthy and not full of negative cancerous tumors. So, from now our life will be "A Life that is all Sunshine and Lollipops", whenever we come across negative people and comments we will delete, trash and ignore.

We are doing this mainly for our children and the better life we hope to provide for them. If we can be an example for others... thanks for the complement! If we can achieve our 3 step mission regarding Autism, it'll be that much better.

Dad

P.S. BTW, Mom's not been well lately and I've been working hard to clear up my 2 months of bronchitis and get back to the working world. So, we apologize for not posting as often as we would like to.

It is important that people see how things are in the real world and I applaude your bravery. Now you know what it feels like to be a celebrity but I am hoping that by doing this, that people will sit up and take notice. Never mind those that put you down, there are those who are proud of you.

It's good to see you looking at the positive. It's so important. I've been doing that as well. If something negative is happening I say , "Well, it's okay because since 'this' is happening the bright side of it is...."
Hope that your wife gets well soon! It's really cool that David doesn't live far from you. Might actually vote for once. LOL Take care!

When you speak up, even speak up for good, you will always find someone who won't like ya for it.

Take the good criticism and learn from it and leave the ugly stuff behind.

Nothin' but love for ya babies!

The younger two of my three boys are autistic, and his teachers and I suspected Asperger's in my oldest back when he was in preschool (never diagnosed, though). I really hope you accomplish what you're working on. My children are currently in the custody of the state because I got emotionally overwhelmed being a single mother of three children, two of whom are autistic. One bad night, no physical or emotional harm done to my children EVER, and my kids have been in foster care (three separate homes, because no one home could handle their collective needs - that should tell the state something right there) for five months. They've regressed horribly, and watching my children backslide and not being able to do a damned thing to help them obviously isn't helping my emotional overload. Help, not judgment, is the solution... or at least as close to an solution as we can get right now.

I'm with Ginger. Get healthy and be there for your kids. That's what it's all about anyway.

Hi guys! I read your article in People magazine two days ago, and I was inspired by your courage and determination. I think you guys are doing an amazing thing for your children, and I pray that God will give you the strength to carry on. In your article, this blog was mentioned, and since I wanted to learn more about this, I decided to check it out. I am 16 years old, and my best friend's sister has autism. I'm not sure of the exact diagnosis, but I imagine that it is somewhat like your oldest child's. I read a lot of the posts just now, and I noticed the one about David Archuleta. I have been watching every week, and from David's very first audition, I was in love with his voice. Unfortunately I'm from Canada and can't vote, so everyone else is just going to have to vote that much more I guess. But my main point is that I will continue to pray for you and your six children. I will definitely be coming back to this blog to check out how things are going. I wish you all the best, and God bless you.

I just wanted to say thank you. You are such an inspiration. My son was just recently diagnosed with PDD NOS. While we were in the process of finding this out, one of my online friends told me about your family from something she had seen on TV. I was just amazed. Unless you have been there you don't understand. Again I thank you for just being you.

All I can say is that your family is simply amazing! It's gotta be tough. You have a TON on your plate and you do the best you can and haven't given up...good for you!
I am glad that you went public and have shared your story with all of us. It helps others to understand (try anyways), especially if they have loved ones with Autism.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

Thanks for sharing the story of your very unique family.
I am just wondering about the history of your children's births? I've recently read a book call gut and psychology syndrome (GAPS) and it seems to be a high level of involvement between the gut and autism. What do you think about this? What is your opinion on the link between vaccination and autism? Are there any alternative therapies that you have found useful? I had really good results with taking my son to the chiropracter for cranio sacral therapy, and using vitamin suppliments, flaxseed oil and homeopathics. I would be really interested to hear your thoughts on this. Congratulations to the both of you for the amazing job you are doing raising your family.

I haven't read that much on your blog yet, so I don't have the greatest idea of what's going on..but just the thought of you guys having 6 kids who are all autistic and being able to pull through like that - it's inspiring! Kirsty (who posted on here too) is one of my closest friends, and she introduced me to this blog - as far as I can see I think you guys are doing an awesome job - keep up the good work!!

I gotta go now - class is over!!

I've been reading your blog for a while. I saw your article in People, I think, and I've been reading it ever since.

I'm sorry people are so hateful to you guys. I cannot even imagine the difficulties raising six children with autism.

If I had any money, I would donate it to you. I don't see you guys as begging for it. You need the money.

Well, I don't have much time to add anything else, so God bless.
